Onboard Ericsson 3, June 26, 2009, 1830 GMT – Leg 10
The last couple of hours have not been that fun. We have been tacking up the coast and we have not been very lucky with the shifts. Puma and both Telefonicas have slipped away a bit and Ericsson 4 has been catching up.
We are still fighting and there is a chance that the wind will drop in the front and we can catch up again. We have been sailing faster than we thought we would and it seems that we will have to sail a triangle course for hours and hours just to keep the arrival schedule intact.
We have had a very nice leg so far with mostly calm sea, 10 to 15 knots and clear blue sky. Even so I am, and I think everyone else as well, longing for this race to be over. Coming in to St Petersburg will be fantastic and leaving that town for home will be even more joyful.
